Ok, so during the last week it seems that all I have done is party. The partying all started last thursday on my birthday. After summer school was finished my mom and I headed home for the afternoon and relaxed because we knew that we would have a long FUN weekend ahead of us.

That evening we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner on the eighth floor of the Macy’s building in Union Square, San Francisco. For dinner I had spicy Jamaican shrimp and rice. It was a pretty good meal, but the best part was the cheesecake we had afterwards. Now, none of us were hungry for a complete slice of cheesecake so we decided to share a piece of cheesecake while we were at the restaurant and each order a slice to go. Mmmmmmmmmmmm……………………..

The next day, July 3rd, we had the day off from summer school. That morning and early afternoon we didn’t do much except¬† sit and relax. At one point during the day Dad and I went to Rasputin Music in downtown berkeley and bought some cd’s. Dad picked out some “different” types of cd’s and I picked out some John Williams cd’s. That evening the Oakland East Bay Symphony had a free concert on the Richmond waterfront. It was a very fun evening of music and fireworks.

The next day, July 4th, we went to the Alameda Fourth of July Parade. I can’t say that I actually watched it because I was texting some friends the entire time. That evening we went to Jack London Square in Oakland for fireworks. As I look back I think that Fourth of July was our day where we did the least amount of celebrating.

On Sunday, July 5, we went to the morning service at Calvary but we went to the evening service at Hamilton Square because the summer travel team from Maranatha, the Messengers, was going to be there. After the service their was a fellowship time with cupcakes and other good food. While at the fellowship time we made plans for Monday.

On Monday I took the group on a tour of San Francisco. We started at about 11 o’clock and headed up to Twin Peaks. It was a little windy at the top but still had a very nice view that day. From Twin Peaks we headed to the Golded Gate Bridge. Although I got a little lost while on my way I ended up on the exact street I wanted to be on by making a few lucky guesses. The Maranatha van was able to find a parking spot pretty quick, but it took me about 20 minutes to find a spot. Once I found a spot we spent about an hour walking out on the bridge and in the gift shop. From there we went across the bridge and up into the Marin Headlands for a fantastic view of the city. While up there a few of the guys decide to go on the trail down the side of the mountain so we had to wait for them to climb back up so that we could head over to Fisherman’s Wharf for lunch. When we got there we went to Boudin’s Bakery and had clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Mmmmmmm……… After that we went down to Ghirardeli Square and got our free piece of chocolate then down to Pier 39.

????? ???? ??????

After a busy day of touring we all headed over to my house for a dinner that Mom and Dad had prepared. After dinner we went up to Indian Rock for one last amazing view of the city. After that we came back to the house and had It’s It Ice Cream and watched a movie. By the end of the day everybody was tired and sunburned, but we had a lot of fun.

Well that is the highlights of the partying. There was actually more party time the next couple of days but I won’t blog about those at this time.

So on Friday, I had one of “those mornings.” It wasn’t bad, it was just very interesting. Let me preface the story by saying that I work every weeknight until 12:30ish, so I do not get a whole lot of sleep during the week especially when I have first hour on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I had my alarm set to go off at 6:30 which gives me plenty of time to get ready for the day, however, I do not remember my alarm going off on Friday. I remember waking up at 5:45ish and thinking that I had 45 more minutes of precious sleep, but the next thing I remember is my roommate’s alarm going off at 7:05. This is not a good time to be waking up at if you have a first hour class which starts at 7:14 (For some odd reason they have band start 6 minutes before any other first hour class). In the first few seconds I was awake I had some major decisions to make about the way my morning would go. I could have cut band and gotten ready for the day, or throw on some clothes and return to my room 2nd hour, which I have a break during. I figured that it would not be worth it use a cut during the 4th week of school so I quickly got dressed and went to band showing up at 7:13. During this time I was thinking that it would be a great time to microwave a Pop Tart because I would have only had about three seconds to waste. After band I ate breakfast then returned to my room and showered and got ready for the rest of the day. After chapel I have History of Civ 2 with Mr. Z (the best civ teacher ever) and there were a couple of times in class that he said something that made me and my friends think about Brian Regan. So Friday was just one of “those mornings” with a little Brian Regan thrown in to make it interesting.

Have a good week.
